The word Kolekbibo joins the spirit of two words, “kolectivo and bibo”, Visayan for collective and bright, joyful activity.
Our Mission
Kolekbibo is a social enterprise that brings together collaborative creators, to support the wellness needs of north Siargao.
Our Goals:
- Support and improve the health and wellness for north Siargao residents and its visitors.
- Build and inspire a local and global community of collaboration, compassion, and care.
Our Objectives:
- Provide healthy and nutritious meals to at-risk and vulnerable groups in north Siargao, encouraging vegetarian and plant based options.
- Create and support sustainable livelihood opportunities for local residents, especially women.
- Operate give-back and volunteer programs that instill values of compassionate behavior and actions.
- Partner with social and environmental focused groups, non-profits and NGOs that share similar goals.
- Invest in Kolekbibo’s team members through education, training development, financial stability and planning.
Projects
With Kolekbibo, there are 4 ways you can support the well-being of North Siargao residents and visitors.
San Benito’s Pregnant + Lactating Mothers Nutrition Program
Kolekbibo’s Pregnant & Lactating Mothers Nutrition Support Program is a pilot initiative that aims to support moms from the start of pregnancy to their first three months postpartum focusing on nutrition and education to prevent malnutrition, educate and empower moms, and create a sustainable program for San Benito for years to come.
Elementary Nutrition & Lunch Box Program
Ever school day Kolekbibo prepares and serves nutritious meals to elementary school students. Plus, children are educated about the nutritional benefits of their meal, which builds positive relationships with food. This is a program in partnership with Calls Over Ridges.
Ukay Ukay for Good
Kolekbibo’s Ukay Ukay for Good sells and donates second hand clothing and homewares. Profits benefit the community needs of barangay Bitaug, home of Kolekbibo. Donations are offered to families in need throughout north Siargao.
Kolekbibo Eatery
Kolekbibo’s eatery is a community space in barangay Bitaug serving simple, wholesome vegetarian food and hosts events and gatherings that enliven Kolekbibo’s mission and goals. Kolekbibo’s eatery is also available for catering services. Revenue supports the non-profit’s community programs.
